West Ham board allow child to arrange a final game after promising fans the last league home game would be the last game. Lying to fans is good.

So West Ham fans deny our ladies team a charity match because they are precious about it being the last game at UP?

I read the vote was hijacked by rival fans voting yes especially man utd fans who apparently advertised on a website vote yes to it being played.

Gutted its been called off. I was looking forward to going and I need another row of seats for my personal cinema.

Re: Extra Boleyn game called off
If they had just said there was a fun match or charity match going on and fans are welcome to go along it would have been received so much better.

And it was 52:48 in favour of it happening but they decided that, as it was so close, they would have to take some time to decide on whether to go ahead or not.

Re: Extra Boleyn game called off
They've probably thrown a paddy about it so called it off out of spite.

I don't think people are upset about the fact there's another game, people have reacted to the crass marketing of that particular game a few days after the proper last game.

If they wanted to push an actual charity game why didn't they market the Legends vs GOSH? Why dress West Ham Ladies vs some Big Brother/TOWIE jokers as some kind of charity game (it's not) and push it as the FINAL game?

Because it was Jack Sullivan's plaything that's why, he's been harping on about it on Twitter for a while.

Their crassness has bit them on the arse, I've no issue with that at all. Or with other behind closed door or non-publicised games being played there. I was going to play in one myself.

Is that true? I assumed the outcome was a no vote, If that wasn't the case then not sure why they chose to call it off? or why they bothered running the vote in the first place.

Thought the vote was 52- 48 in favour of it going ahead

Re: Extra Boleyn game called off
If the club has decided to call it off , I would assume that the response too their poll was a resounding no, if that is the case then it's fair enough.

Whether I agree with it or not, in this instance I think the club did the correct thing putting to a vote and then going with the majority.

You don't find it just a tad sad that grown men are upset by another meaningless game being played on the pitch - no matter how it was pitched

Re: Extra Boleyn game called off
I was hoping the club would act with class and professionalism and not try and hawk a child's play thing as the final game at our ground, Mr P but we can't have it all.

Seems a fair few agree with that stance and have stood up to the classless board. Good to see after the roll over with the OS.

Keen to point out that the £2,500 paid was nothing to do with any Football For Fans events.

Shame they gave in to a pathetic bunch of moany tossers.

People just love a moan and I was hoping the club would stand up the twonks

What a load of bollocks, the BBC will have a field day with this. They should play the ladies game in the car park of Sainsburys in Beckton....that's where they should all be on a Saturday afternoon.

PD - You'll be surprised. The price imposed on the club to the vendors who offer it has gone up since you know who has taken over which had been passed on to the end punter.

Re: Extra Boleyn game called off
Im playing there next friday night in the GOSH v WHU Legends, and there are many other tournaments and games going ahead over the next 6 weeks or so.

At a legends dinner last december some fella paid over £2500 in an auction to play in a game there against ex whu

Not having the girls play there is a massive, unnecessary over reaction.

Everyone knows the last 'real game' there was last tuesday so dont know what all the fuss is about

Re: Extra Boleyn game called off
I really don't see the problem with a charity game being played.

I see how people can be upset with it being marketed as 'one final Boleyn game'. But devaluing the Man Utd game? No.

Marston, there is a football for fans day there soon when there will be loads of games going on all day.
I have done it before and could have done this one but can't really afford it this year.

I'd say most people don't give a shit. If they want to play a ladies match there then so fucking what.

Johnson 3:55 Wed May 18
Re: Extra Boleyn game called off
They were also calling it a charity game which was misleading as WHU Ladies are not a charity I don't think.

This is SOLELY due to the club pushing this as the last game, which was SOLELY down to the FACT that Jack Sullivan was "organising" it and Daddy Sullivan obviously thought letting the child play shop at such an emotive time was a good idea.

They will spin it to blame anyone other than themselves of course and as usual some people will agree with them.
